Abstract

|
|
A case with varicoid carcinoma of esophagus infiltrated from gastric cancer is presented and differentiation from the similar findings in esophageal varices is emphasized. Radiologically, distinction must be made on the basis of changeability of the configuration of the wall with positional change and respiratory maneuver, a characteristic feature of varices. Endoscopically, varicoid carcinoma does not change with respiratory cycle and have a reddish-white color in contrast to blue color of varices. Biopsy would confirm the cancer.
